Chapter 19 is about “The 90/10 riddle”. The riddle emphasizes the 90% of people who are working their way to earn the 10% of the money. The chapter is all about how to solve the riddle and be able to become one among the 10% of the people who earns the 90% of the money.

For most people it takes money to earn money and eventually get rich but having such a mentality would not qualify one to become as rich as the 10% of the population to earn the 90% of the money. They may earn a lot, they may not have a hard time earning money but that won’t bring them to the 90% of the people that earns the 10% of the money.

There are a lot of people who are earning a lot and are not having a hard time earning money but are still unable to get out of the hump. A lot of people are still working for money that they cannot stop for a few months to take a vacation as they would risk their source of income. More and more people are looking forward to work then save and invest while working. Others on the other hand are working until they retire and put up a business of their own from their retirement pay.

Those thinking would not qualify one to become one among the 10% of the people who earn the 90% of the money. In order to be able to qualify on that category and finally break the riddle, one must think constantly. Thinking of ways on how to create the wealth you desire and constantly challenging your thinking is how most of the self made millionaires have done it before.

In order for one to break the riddle, he must exert his time, effort and knowledge on his idea and expect nothing from it but the attainment of his objectives. Steve Jobs didn’t aim to become rich but he only loved the challenge of programming that he ended up in creating the very foundation of Apple Inc. which is its operating system. Mark Zuckerberg did not plan to build the most famous social networking site but only to have a site where people in a community would be able to interact until Facebook reached the whole world.

Those kinds of thinking are what it takes to become one among the 10% who earns 90% of the money. They never aspire to become where they are financially but rather they devote all their time, effort and knowledge to figure out something that eventually led to riches. Those kinds of people who never quit to attain their established objectives and have the passion in what they do are the qualities that everyone should pursue to be able to get out of the hump and solve the riddle.

Do you constantly think? Do you challenge your thinking? Do you stop whenever you get tired or felt that you can’t do it anymore? There’s still time to change that mindset and think like those who have solved the riddle.
